Ambassador class Starships such as the Uss Enterprise-C were designed by Starfleet in the 2320's. These vessels could reach a top speed of warp 9.2, but were later upgraded to operate with maximum speeds in the range of warp 9.8. Similar to Galaxy class Starships,these vessels are capable of saucer separation in battle, or in the event of an emergency.

The Antares class scouts were designed about five years after Constitution class Starships such as the Uss Defiant. Commissioned by Starfleet to replace earlier scouts, these Starships were designed as science and reconnaissance craft, and could perform extensive space exploration missions. Each Ship had a complement of about 22 officers and 198 crew.

Daedalus Starships were designed by Starfleet in 2051. Built as exploration ships, these vessels were among the first to adopt the secondary hull / warp drive design. The Daedalus Starship Uss Carrizal discovered two class M planets orbiting the star at Triangula, and named these planets Romulus & Remus, later referred to by the Federation as the Roman Empire.

The early Daedalus class Starships were commissioned by the Federation in 2161 and were designed as deep space research craft. These ships were equipped with the latest warp drive technology, which allowed Starfleet to explore much more territory and carry out scientific research missions within the United Federation of Planets exploration territory.

The DY series of interplanetary sleeper ships were launched from Earth in the late 20th century. The most famous ship of this type was the SS Botany Bay. This ship was stolen by Khan Noonian Singh in order to escape Earth after the Eugenics Wars. Use of the DY 100 ships came to an end in 2018 when advances in research allowed for faster space travel.

Also referred to as deep space explorer vessels - the DY-900 class Starships were designed and deployed by the newly formed United Federation of Planets in the 21st century shortly after the successful launch of the Daedalus 100 class deep space explorer ships. These vessels were designed as scientific research spacecraft and could operate within federation territory.

The Uss Enterprise Constitution class Starship Is perhaps the most famous spacecraft in history. Launched in 2245 from the San Francisco yards, orbiting Earth. The first captain of the Enterprise was Robert April followed by Christopher Pike, then captain James T Kirk, on a five year mission to explore strange new worlds and seek out new civilizations.

The original Enterprise has been refitted a number of times throughout its history. The last refit took place on 2270, when virtually every system was upgraded this included a new bridge, and warp drive nacelles. The original Uss Enterprise was destroyed in 2285 by James Kirk in order to prevent the ship from falling into the hands of the Klingons.

The Uss Excelsior was launched in 2284 under the command of captain Styles. Commissioned by Starfleet as a test vehicle for the new Transwarp Development Project. This test Project was not successful. The Excelsior was later refitted with standard warp technology and went into service as a research craft, under the command of captain Sulu.

The D7 class Klingon battle cruisers could be described as the backbone of the Klingon defence force. These vessels are equipped with warp drive phase disruptor torpedo armament technology, and are 228 meters in length. This technology was also shared to some extent with the Romulus star empire during an alliance between the two powers in 2260.

Miranda class Starships, such as the Uss Reliant, were in use well into the 24th century. Designed by Starfleet as multi role cruisers these ships had advanced weapons .. such as phasers, and photon torpedoes. The Miranda Starships were also equipped with advanced sensor systems which allowed these vessels to be used as Federation research craft.

Enterprise NX01 was launched in 2151 as part of the warp 5 project. Setup by Zephram Cochrane. The first deep space exploration ship of its kind, the Enterprise has a crew compliment of 87, and weighs about 80,000 metric tons. Similar in design to Akira class Starships, this vessel has a maximum speed of warp 5, the defense systems consist of polarized hull plating.

The Phoenix was the first faster than light craft launched from Earth in 2063. Designed by Zephram Cochrane, and his team of engineers the test flight took place from an old intercontinental ballistic missile silo in central Montana USA, where the Phoenix was launched from a Titan V rocket, the only vehicle powerful enough to put his ship into orbit.

Romulan Warbirds are also referred to as Romulan birds of prey. These ships have the ability to cloak themselves, rendering them invisible to sensor scans. Warbirds are also equipped with energy plasma weapons. However it was learned by Starfleet, that this cloaking technology required so much power the ship had to de cloak before using any of its weapons.

This Starship was one of the first historical space vehicles to bear the name Enterprise. Referred to as a Declaration class Starship, this type of vehicle was in service from 2120. Commissioned by the United Earth Space Probe Agency as a space exploration vehicle and inspired by Vulcan ring ship designs, this type of craft was capable of faster than-light propulsion and could reach a top speed of warp 3.2.

The Uss Stargazer is a constellation class Federation Starship similar in size to constitution class Starships, such as the Uss Defiant. These ships were designed as deep space exploration vessels. Under the command of Jean Luc Picard in 2333, the Stargazer was attacked by Cardassian forces. Later recovered by the Ferengi, the ship was decommissioned in 2364.

The Transport tug class Starships were design as cargo and civil support craft. Also referred to as Ptolemy class Starships, the primary role for these Transport tugs were to supply fuel, and construction materials for M class planets. Each vessel could transport up to 126.500 metric tons of cargo. These ships have a complement of 22 officers, and 110 crew.

The Valiant class Starships were very simple in design - mainly because of limited recourses imposed by world war three. The first of these Starships was the SS Valiant. This space craft embarked on a mission of interstellar exploration in 2065 however the vessel was destroyed when it encounter an energy barrier at the edge of our galaxy.

The Uss Voyager. An intrepid class Starship. In 2371 under the command of captain Kathryn Janeway. The starship was transported some 70,000 light years from Earth into an unexplored area of the galaxy known as the Dalta Quadrant. This type of Starship has a gross mass of 700,000 metric tons, and can sustain a cruising speed of warp 9.975.
